The South China Morning Post reported on the launch of Let’s Hunt Monsters, revealing that it has already become China’s most downloaded free game on the Chinese iOS app store – outperforming massively in-demand games such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Honour of Kings However, Pokémon Go is banned in China due to the country’s ban on Google, as the game relies heavily on Google Maps.Īs a result, there was an opening for a massively popular augmented reality game to surface in China. ‘Let’s Hunt Monsters’ appears to be inspired by Pokémon Go, which has had humongous global success.
